During the course of making bourbon salt, I scorched my favorite pot. Which is a terrible thing to have happen! Except that there’s a super easy solution to it that I’m sharing here in case anyone else has the same problem.
Sprinkle baking soda all over the bottom of the scorched pot and fill it about a third of the way up with water. Set the pot on your stovetop over a medium high flame and let the water/baking soda solution come to a boil. Remove the pot from the heat, place it in the sink until it’s cool enough to handle and wash with a soapy sponge. The scorch marks should slide right off. Et voila! A shiny pot, just waiting for its next big job.
